Jane Oxenbury

M.Ed. (Counselling), Registered Psychologist

I have been a Registered Psychologist since 1992 and have a private practice in Calgary, where I work with individuals (aged 12 years and older), couples and families. I specialize in the areas of relationship issues, trauma and abuse, immigrant and refugee issues, work-related problems, anger management, assertiveness training, communication, depression, anxiety, sexual orientation, gender identity and hypnotherapy. I am an educator who has given numerous workshops regarding these areas of specialization and has trained many professionals and their organizations.

I am an Approved Provider for the First Nations and Inuit Health Branch (Non-Insured Health Benefits Program and the Indian Residential Schools Resolution Health Support Program). I am also an Approved Supervisor for Provisional Psychologists and Masters level students.

 I am a member of the Psychologists Association of Alberta, the College of Alberta Psychologists, the Canadian Psychologists Association, the Canadian Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology, and the Canadian Society of Clinical Hypnosis – Alberta Division.

I have co-authored the chapters “Counselling Lesbians” in “Culturally-Infused Counselling: Celebrating the Canadian Mosaic” (2005) and “Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex Individuals” in “Canadian Counselling Psychology in the 21st Century” (2015), as well as the book “The Pantry: Creating a Healthy Relationship One Shelf at a Time” (2018).
